I live in Grand Rapids but I travel frequently to Madison for business. The last couple of trips, I have been bringing my bike and riding like south down Seminole Highway and out on some of the roads down that way. Well tonight, I ended up getting a flat, I changed my tube but had trouble getting it inflated. Well to make a long story short, I ended up stranded like 5 miles back to my hotel with two broken tubes, 2 empty CO2 canisters and about 20 minutes until dark. I did have my cell phone but I'm not sure my wife would have been happy driving 200 miles to come pick me up. Anyway, Lauren stopped and asked if I needed help. She ended up giving me a new tube and a CO2 canister so I could make it back before it got dark. Lauren had a nice new Orbea and said her and her husband do IM Wisconsin. If anyone happens to know her, would they please tell her that Craig from Michigan is very grateful and if they can tell me what bike shop she frequents, I will make sure they have a tube and a couple CO2 cylinders waiting for her the next time she stops in.
Was she sporting a shark fin on her bike helmet? If so, lucky you as it was Lauren Jensen a Wisconsin pro. She and her husband run a tri-training business and both are accomplished IM'ers. I thought Lauren still lived in SE Wisconsin, but she might have had reason to be in Madison and out for a ride...
That's the first "Lauren" biker/triathlete that comes to mind...
Even if you don't find out who it was, you'll now have a good reason to do a good deed for someone else...
No shark fin that I saw, but she was wearing a UW Wisconsin Tri team jersey. I would always stop and help a fellow biker on the side of the road but now I am even more willing to.
Thanks, thats her. After reading your post, I remembered she has an orange shoe sticker on her bike. Now I can stop by and drop off a new tube and CO2.
It is Lauren who owns the Orange shoe gym. I am going to see her tomorrow night, so I will be sure to pass the thanks along . And she is pretty fast...has Kona qualified before.

I'm sure she figured it out but if not let her know that the tube and CO2 that ended up on her desk came from Craig from Michigan. I even sprung for a latex tube, maybe it will make her even faster.

Lauren only races with the fin. I will ask her when I see her. She lives in Muskego. Happy you figured it out!
