Pre-race routine:

Got up late. Slept in a bit, but got to do my morning yoga.
Event warmup:

None. I need one since I always get halfway through the swim and am then ready to start.
Swim
  • 21m 4s
  • 1000 meters
  • 02m 07s / 100 meters
Comments:

I stayed on course pretty well. I swam well once I got past the initial panic of swimming in black, mucky, weedy water.
What would you do differently?:

Figure out how to warm up before I get into the water. Or, figure out how to settle in faster. I can do this!
Transition 1
  • 02m 44s
Comments:

In and out quick, mainly because I was a lot closer to the exit. I did have to pee. Didn't seem to affect my time too much.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Maybe remember to drink more water before getting on the bike.
Bike
  • 1h 13m 1s
  • 21 miles
  • 17.26 mile/hr
Comments:

I did okay. My left foot, left fingers, and right shoulder blade went numb. Maybe I need to look at my bike seat and lower it.
What would you do differently?:

More training rides! I'd like to see an average of 20 on these rides, but I max out at that speed. It may not be possible with my current bike.
Transition 2
  • 01m 28s
Comments:

Went pretty fast through this. Again, I think location was everything.
Run
  • 48m 58s
  • 5 miles
  • 09m 47s  min/mile
Comments:

I dogged it. I ran slow and thought I was going to cry on the second to last turn. We run in a big square, so that turn means you're almost there. I was thinking too much about the fact that I hadn't trained as well as I should have. I had to brush those thoughts aside. I did eventually, but it was not easy.
What would you do differently?:

Train more! My run time was less than stellar. I can live with it, but I really wanted to run a good race.
Post race
Warm down:

My warm down was Connor driving me home. It was awesome!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training. I just didn't put in all the required time/miles. I still did okay though.

great race!, dont worry about your run, it was a great time, i had to walk a portion of it as i normally do sprints and the 5 mile killed me.
