Sunny
Total Time = 2h 57m 48s
Overall Rank = 213/482
Age Group = Clydesdale
Age Group Rank = 7/22
Pre-race routine:

Up @ 4:15. Some raisin toast and a V8 for breakfast, got to the race site @ 5:15. They didn't open till 5:30, so I sat in the car for a bit. I packed the night before and was relatively relaxed all morning.
Event warmup:

Heh. 1st mistake of the day. I sat around and chatted with people, met up with Keri and walked around, wasting time. Should have taken this more seriously, but I was dead tired after only 4 hours of sleep the night before. Made sure my tranisition area was perfect, got on the wetsuit, and I was ready to roll.
Swim
  • 24m 53s
  • 1500 meters
  • 01m 40s / 100 meters
Comments:

Really happy with this effort. I wouldn't change anything.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I was pleased.
Transition 1
  • 01m 15s
Comments:

Wetsuit strippers always make a big difference. One less big thing to worry about. I flew through T1 as it was pretty big.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I was still on my "A" game at this point.
Bike
  • 1h 23m 19s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 17.90 mile/hr
Comments:

Tailwind going out on Quincy (uphill) and headwind/crosswind coming back in to the Res. At least heading west it's downhill. Just killed my average speed. Going out I was at 19.2, by the time I got back to T2 my Garmin said the speed was 17.9 . I also found the course according to my Garmin a little long. I heard this from others too. I was pretty happy with my RPE, I wish the time were faster.
What would you do differently?:

Bike more I suppose. And put a better climbing cassette on my bike.
Transition 2
  • 01m 56s
Comments:

Fastest T2 yet this year. I was definitely mentally prepared for what I needed to do.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 1h 06m 26s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 10m 42s  min/mile
Comments:

Haha. About what I expected. I continue to suck at running. But the important thing is that I ran the entire course, save for one aid station when I took in a Gu. I've had some issues with HR spikes, and I wanted to ensure I looked respectable. Whatever. It is what it is.
What would you do differently?:

Probably could have pushed harder, but I didn't want to injure myself or run out of gas. I am just not a runner and I have to find the desire to become one if I ever want to excel in this sport.
Post race
Warm down:

No need to warm down- it was cold out! I put on the hat and shirt they gave away to warm up. Ate a little food, talked with all the BT'ers there- MechEChick, TriOK, Wavedog, Odenelli, KateKLewicki, and some others.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I need to focus on running more. Period. I still spend too much time swimming and not enough running. Need to get over myself. This is not Aquabike, this is triathlon.

Event comments:

Still my favorite race of the year. I'll continue doing it again and again.

Performance: Good
My actual time in the water to swim the 1500 was 22:11, this included a long run up the beach to the wetsuit strippers, then the run to T1. Pretty good effort, I wouldn't change anything.
Suit: Xterra Vortex Full
Course: Weird. Out and back first lap, then a triangle the 2nd lap. I wish they'd make it one big loop. But it made the 2nd lap easy because I was alone.
