Pre-race routine:

Up at 4:30. Light breakfast. Got to event WAY too early - probably the 3rd person there. Walked down to the lake, looked at the waves from the wind. Went back to transition area and pondered the swim.

Not an easy swim for my second race. Super windy with large waves. Managed to keep my head for the most part, but had to go to my back 3-4 times to regroup.

The route was more hilly than I anticipated. I kept a decent pace and saved enough for the run.
What would you do differently?:

Push 10% harder on the bike. That would still left enough for the run.

Great job at a tough race!  I am so impressed by your improvement in the swim, especially.  That was a tough one.   Was good seeing you!
