Comments:

Glutes and Hams just wouldn't loosen up on the bike today. Had ridden this course well over a 20 mph average twice in the previous week. I think my legs just were fatigued. I was definitely disappointed with my bike performance
What would you do differently?:

Didn't really taper for this race as it was a "B" race for me
Transition 2
  • 01m 51s
Comments:

Took my time in T2, Talking with Cody and Gibb while getting ready, Downed 2 Endurolytes and a gel before heading out.
What would you do differently?:

Eat on the run
Run
  • 25m 54s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

Went out too slow on the run. Was so disappointed in my bike I wasn't motivated on the run until I saw Mason. He had passed me in T2 and I didn't know it. With a mile to go I had him in my sights and clocked a pretty fast last mile ending up in a sprint finish with Mason at the line. We had a blast!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Had some vittles and enjoyed the post race social hour. Laughed it up with Mason regarding our finish!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of taper but that was ok as my motivation for this race was to get out there with all my friends as this is the primary local venue for the year.

Event comments:

The sprint to the finish with Mason made this race more than memorable. I don't think I'll ever forget that one!
