Caught, passed and left behind an old man hauling trash in his pickup on a back road here recently.  He was driving pretty slow... he sort of jumped when he looked over and a guy on a bike was overtaking him.

SpeedAgent - 2010-08-26 7:58 AM Just last night while riding my buddy and I saw an enormous fish laying in the grass on the side of the road.  There is not a body of water anywhere nearby.  This fish was huge, probably 20 lbs or larger and fully intact.  It had not started smelling fishy yet so it could not have been there long in the 90+ degree heat.  My best guess is that it maybe flopped out of someone's cooler in the back of their truck????

Not knowing where you live...perhaps it was dropped by a bird of prey?  Here in Florida we have eagles, hawks and ospreys.  All too often they try to snag a fish that ends up being too big for them and they drop them.

I'm the buddy, and there are no pterodactyls here in GA to carry this fish-We're talking huge-think gym duffle bag; say 3ft by 2ft and FAT!

There are two fields on my various bike routes that have zebra.

This morning while biking we saw a man walking his large dog (on a leash) ahead of us.  Once we got close we realized he was walking a baby cow on a leash.

Was doing a multi-day ride, and got up to pee at about 3:45 AM.  Saw some 16 yr old teenager putting on sun screen just before starting that day's ride.  Insane!!

Fresh water jellyfish at the quarry where I used to swim. Freaked me the hell out at the time. It was only after I finished my swim (with a WAY above average HR) and got home that I learned that their tentacles can't penetrate the skin, so they're harmless.

Not entire correct. Most of the time they can't. I've personally gotten rashes from them though.

I had an owl steal my hat on a late night trail run at the park recently...

A dead armadillo laying on it's back with a beer can stuck between it's front legs.  Looked like it was drinking!

Running along my normal route through a local neighborhood, one of those quasi-crazy guys who go door to door selling shady magazine subscriptions wearing a dress shirt and tie with khaki pants spontaneously started keeping pace with me.  I dropped him after about a quarter mile.

I was doing a small Time Trial in a rural area that had a 30 second staggered start.  I was first in line about 10 seconds from my start when a massively overweight guy on a hybrid carrying grocery bags weaved through the start area and continued riding down the race course.  The starter looks at me and says "what the he77?  Uh, well, no drafting"  right before the clock beeped my countdown.

Whoever the poor schmuck was who had that fish fly out of his cooler now has a story no one will ever believe.

Can you imagine being the driver behind the cooler and seeing the fish fly out!!!
(weird but this road has no bump where the fish was lying-so it must have jumped out)
