Age Group Rank = 45/693
Pre-race routine:

We were totally running late for this one, so all we had time to do was jump from our car to the shuttle to the start line. :( We missed our wave and joined the next one.
Event warmup:

Well, we did run from the shuttle to the packet pickup
Run
  • 35m 3s
  • 3.26 miles

Comments:

I was really dehydrated going up the mountain, and the dust wasn't helping. I didn't start enjoying myself until the mud pit. (where the water station was).

I couldn't run the entire climbing portion, and wasn't able to run after the mud pit for a while due to the 20 pounds of mud caked to me. I did come out of the entire thing with some new scratches and wounds, but I had a blast.

The fire wall was much higher than I expected :)
What would you do differently?:

Get there earlier; carry my own water.
Post race
Warm down:

jumped in the freezing cold pond to wash off.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

dehydration

Event comments:

This was a fun race :)

Oh wow, sounds like a fun race -- how high was that fire wall...?  8' or higher?  Yikes!

I used to go to Denver U, dated a guy with family in Frisco, so love that part of CO.  Hope you're having a good, healthy summer there.  Any more races coming up?

Cheers, -Sunny

Sorry, I forget about the triathlon forum when I start slacking for the winter

It was really run. I think the fire wall was about...3 feet high? But being only 5' myself, it was quite a jump.

Hope you had a wonderful racing season!
