Subject: Presque Isle Triathlon Beautiful day for a race...75 degrees and a slight breeze. Swim was slow (as usual ) 610 yards (20.30 -see my screen name for clarification! ) Had a moment when I thought I was going to pass out. I ran to my bike and bent over to put my socks on and couldn't get my balance. Was really dizzy. That's never happened to me before. Anyone? For a moment I was unsure if I could get on the bike. Turned out the bike was the fun part, entirely flat. 13 miles 39:58. (averaged 19.1 ) Some really fast guys passed me like I was on a stationary bike. I could hear those disc wheels coming every time! Then the run...ugh. Stomach cramps the whole way. Spent yesterday in the ER with my hubby after 2 sleepless nights of some weird virus (him, not me ). 6 hours with little food and not much water. Think I was undernourished and underhydrated. Finished the 3.5 mile run in 38 min. and was just happy to finish. That run seemed so freaking long! 1:42:38. Longest race to date and the most torturous after that run. Hate when bad days are on race day! I should add that the volunteers did a fabulous job. Well run-great music, lots of food, and a beautiful park to enjoy. Highly recommend it.
