Could not get my HR down. It was already through the roof on the swim and bike and then I thought my head was going to explode on the run. Almost threw up in the finish area.

Warm down:

jumped back into the pool

What limited your ability to perform faster:

No idea. My time is slower than 2 years ago. I should have warmed up more and gone slower on the swim. My HR was way high on the bike as I pushed hard to keep up a decent pace into the wind. My legs were fine and felt strong on both bike and run, just could not rev up the machine any higher.

Event comments:

Fun little race for townies at a local, private gym (but open to all). They also had a kids' dash and splash afterward and pizza party. I have no idea where I placed since the results were not sorted out yet. All I got off the clipboard were my splits. They had awards for the first three athletes male and female. No relays this time.

Course: 8 laps in outdoor pool, sharing a lane with one other swimmer. I am so much slower in the pool than in OW! I don't do flip turns and don't push off hard from the wall because that always makes my goggles leak which isn't good with contacts. Oh well.
