Good race. Congrats on the improvement! I did this race last year and I had a lot of fun. Tough run course, but you cant beat a kona brewing sponsored after party!

thanks Jason, I was trying my best to do what I could.  This is the last race I did with my old bike, so that's one good reason for the better bike time.  I felt good on the run this time, whereas last year it was hot and difficult.  I think I trained better for the run, and kept hydrating.

tough thing to swallow is that I'd have to do atleast 10mins better to hit the 3rd place in my AG.

since this got to be a double post I'll write a little more..I really like Keauhou Lavaman, much more than Waikaloa. Mainly because it's a much smaller crowd. It's an amazingly nice swim, uncrowded as triathlons usually go, and the bike and run are nice courses, esp the run.

I do like Waikaloa Lavaman as well (already signed up for next year!) but that swim mob is like a near Honu nightmare (well not quite, but seemed like it).

but the stuff that I really enjoyed was catching Mailani and Na Moku in the shopping center parking lot sat evening. How lucky was I do be out on a quick bike ride and hear them going off.

Also I really enjoyed the festivities after, good food and of course Kona brew!
