I thought I'd bring something a little different into the mix. Enough landscape and nature crap ;-)

Here is an HDR self image I took at a clients house teaching them about HDR.

Brad,

what program are you using for the HDR photos?

I use Photomatix Pro. This was just a quickie that turned out ok. No touchups in photoshop afterwords, etc.

An idea on logistics. I think the Saturday night cut off for posting pics makes sense. But I think the voting only being on Sunday might result in fewer votes. I for one don't spend much time on BT on Sundays so I would most likely not have the chance to vote. So maybe edit it to, vote when you want, but if you want to wait till all the pics are in, wait till Sunday.

Perhaps this was implied and I am just making it complicated.

photomatix is a great program, very easy to use, fairly fast, and a decent amount of control options.

this + photoshop will give you a lot of control over what final images look like, and out of all the HDR programs photomatix is at the top of the list for giving a serious "HDR" look.

some of the other ones out there can give a more natural look with less work (ie less other wordly looking lighting, etc), but for the big punch HDR image look photomatix would be my go to choice.

With the newer versions of PS CS you can get some pretty solid images as well, but a little less control on the merging values/options.

Yeah, I agree. Maybe keep voting open through Monday? Just a thought.

ETA--great pix everyone! I'm a little intimidated to join in.

I agree with Aaron. I don't spend much time on the computer on weekends. It would be nice to be able to vote on Mondays for the previous week.

Great job everyone. Interesting pics.

Just a thought on formatting/voting Newbz. Simply have everyone who submits a photo add their name to the poll for as a voting option. Set the entry deadline by sunday night, voting ends monday night. That gives people a chance to run view everything and non-entrants don't have to worry about adding their own names. I would assume everyone would want to vote for their own pictures anyway (but maybe not). Just a thought at the end of lunch.

Nice pictures everyone!

Very nice, a little cropping for composition and you've got a winner.
