not funny, the metal pin holding the wristband in place was bent quite a bit and I nearly lost my 310 during a bike ride!
I had not touched that pin since I got my 310 and I dont believe that I am putting any extraordinary force on the band...

Has this happened to anyone else?

Mine broke a little different. The pin did not bend but the hole where the pin sits on the GPS body broke off. A little piece of plastic was just hanging there. I sent it in and had a replacement under the warranty, no questions asked.

I got a replacement after the pin failed on mine and it jumped in front of a car during a training ride.

Yes, this is a frequent thing, or at least was when they first came out. I would imagine they changed the pin setup almost immediately after the first set went out because it's only onsie/twosie now as people buy the older ones that have been in stock.

If you have the watch part of it, call them for an RMA so they can send a replacement. It's not a problem.

yep...count yourself lucky, I have had two come off in the water, amazingly Garmin replaced both (I managed to recover one of them). They should get you a replacement pin/strap quickly, service has been excellent for me.

Mine snapped this morning on a run. I wasn't really going fast enough that the wind would have blown it off (grin) so I think it just decided it was "done". Mine wasn't the strap but the little plastic pins that attach the strap to the main body. I called Garmin, was on hold for 30 mins, but then got a really great rep who said to send it to them and they would send out a replacement for free (my 405 is about 3 yrs old but she said the break seemed to be in a weird place and there was nothing I/they could do to fix it)...So in 7-10 days I should have a new one (let's hope). For now, I guess I am training on RPE :-) If this works out I will be thoroughly impressed with the way they handled it.
