Did my first race (sprint) this weekend - Saturday - and it was amazing!  I was so nervous waiting to get in the pool but, once I did, all my fear and anxiety went away and I just did the best I could and enjoyed myself.  I finished in 1:55:25 and was pretty happy with that time for my first race.  Can't wait to start again next year!!

Feels good, huh?  I went around Sunday afternoon and all day Monday grinning like an idiot.  Heck, I'm still grinning when I consider the accomplishment.

Congrats  :^)

I remember my first sprint race.  I was so nervous and hyperventilated by the time the swim started, I didn't need to take my first breath until the first turn, (ok, it seemed like it anyway).  They can get addicting.

Awesome job.
Happy training.

Thanks everybody!  Yep, I have at least 3 races in mind for next year, and maybe four...plus at least one half mary in April (Country Music 1/2 here in Nashville).  It's funny how many of my friends are amazed that I do this stuff, but still call me crazy!  HAAAAAAAA!!!

Congratulations! I just did my first tri on Sunday and wish that I had planned it earlier in the summer so that I could have done another one this year. I feel lost after having spent so much time preparing, and now it's off season. What are your plans for off season training?

I know what you mean about feeling lost.  My husband has a HIM on the 26th so he's still hard at it, but I'm not sure what I should be doing now, lol.  We do plan on doing p90x over the winter and will get an indoor trainer, plus swimming indoors.  And I'll start training for my half-mary in early January (will be my 7th) but, again, just kind of in limbo right now.  I probably should enjoy the down time, and I did for a few days, but I'm ready to get back into training!

Congrats- I know the feeling.  Did my 1st sprint this spring.  Had such a good time (and PRed my 5K run) that I signed up for and did an Oly Tri.... just 5 days later.  I love the Oly distance- it's perfect.
