Comments:

Aiming to average 26 mph. Went 23:31 (24.87 mph) back in June without any 'aero' gear. This is a weekly race, and the last one is next week. I wanted to gauge my progress during the season. I used my aero wheelset (HED Jet 6/9) and my aero helmet (Giro Advantage 2). I was able to beat my goal pace by over 1/2 mph, which pleased me. Now I can shoot for 27+ mph next season.

Not bad, considering most of the people that do this weekly race aren't triathletes and don't train to run or swim, just bike
What would you do differently?:

I actually didn't feel completely exhausted at the end of the ride - maybe I could have gone for 27
Post race
Warm down:

Rode home at 22-23 mph, so I guess I had a little left in the tank.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Didn't push as hard as I probably could have.

Event comments:

Pretty happy with how I did - not bad for a triathlete competing against mostly road racers. I'm pretty sure I probably could have averaged 27mph if I had gone out a little harder, but my goal pace was 26mph. Now I have something to shoot for next time.

This also gives me a good idea of what pace to aim for in a duathlon that I'm doing in mid October - shooting to average around 25mph on the 12 mile bike leg.
