Overall Rank = 185/337
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 17/22
Event warmup:

Ran a little bit and then kinda chilled around a bit.
Swim
  • 41m 3s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 30s / 100 yards
Comments:

The choppiness of the lake really threw me off. I was NOT expecting it at all. I grabbed the wrong pair of goggles so I couldn't sight as well as I would like to have. My performance was NOT was it should have been. I was really thinking I was going to be in the 35-37 range. I much admit I was a touch disappointed with myself.
What would you do differently?:

Continue training but make it harder, more consistent training.
Transition 1
  • 02m 6s
Comments:

I could have been a little bit faster here. I also forgot to grab my gel for the bike but it didn't really hurt me that much.
What would you do differently?:

HTFU
Bike
  • 1h 21m 56s
  • 27.96 miles
  • 20.48 mile/hr
Transition 2
  • 02m 18s
Comments:

I was WAY too slow
What would you do differently?:

I took entirely too much time trying to clean off my feet before putting on my socks/shoes. Next time, I'm going to be of a priss!
Run
  • 54m 1s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 42s  min/mile
Comments:

Not sure what happened but I had some serious issues in the "man" department during the run. I felt good the entire run. My legs were with me and I didn't walk at all which felt great and is a first for me. Taking all of this into considerations, the pain that I felt in my "man parts" with every strike of the ground with my left foot was insane. Not sure what happened but I pray it never happens again.
What would you do differently?:

I think it's realistic for me to run in the 7's. I'm going to start putting in more mileage and try to make a goal of about the same pace, maybe a little faster, for B2B Half.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

My crappy swim and the "man" pain I was suffering with during the run.

Event comments:

I'm very happy with my time considering this is my first Olympic. Its the first time I've gotten this long of a race in and I'm hapy with the performance. Things could have been beeter but i finished and it didn't kill me. I'm happy.

Nice job out there GA. I see you have that Argon flying around the NC countryside.
Keep up the great work and you are going to have an awesome race at B2B.

Great race G.A.!  I predict you'll be a force to be reckoned with as time goes on!

That water sure was choppy!  I had a hard time focusing on form because the rough water was such a distraction.  Looks like the wind didn't bother you on the bike much, good job!

Great race report and Congrats on a race well done. That swim was choppy and I think it was also long. You never know about swims because they can really throw a monkey wrench into your day! Great bike split!

Not sure what 'man pain' you mean, and maybe I don't want to know, lol. But I've had pain in my groin during running, when I'm pushing myself. I think it's a pulled ligament or something. Just be sure to stretch it out, if that's what your pain is like.

Good luck at B2B! That swim should be way way easier!
