Pre-race routine:

Light rain
Light breakfast at IHOP, ate about 1 pancake, 3/4 cup of has browns, 2 scrabled eggs, 2 sausage links.
Got to the race are about 5:15.
Got my chip and set up my trasition areaput pwder in my shoes and put shoes and socks in plastic bag. put my glasses and belt in helmet and attached helmet to handle bars.
I had my towel under crate with run hat.
Rain began to come down so I put on my wet suit.

Benediction and comment about 9/11, played Star Spangled banner, very touching.
1st bouy broke loose, and quite a few people in my wave swam past it. I was out of the water very fast.
Rain came down juast before start. Start was delayed about 3-4 minutes.

Bike popped in to small ring but got it right back into upper.
Run from swim to T1 was about 1/4 mile long and muddy/sandy.
Dried off feet very well and put on socks and shoes, double knot.

Verry good ride, good pace, pushed it wanted to be done in less than an hour, might have been able to push a bit harder but pace was solid.
Volunteers and police did a great job of keeping traffic at bay.
What would you do differently?:

Little more road work.

Got off the bike early but was worried about getting a penalty, road was wet and braking was very difficult.Went into T2 dropped off bike and took a quick drink. Person next to me had not racked bike properly and it was leaning into my area.
Grabbed hat and jogged out of T2

Rehabbing right leg and rain.

Event comments:

Great race, great venue, very well organized.
Quite a fewe people arrived late for packet-pickup and chip pickup, but thatr was nott he organizers fault.
They adapted and dit the best to get stuff to every one. Organizer left Transition open 10 minutes extra to accomodate everyone.
Food was great and they had plenty.

That transition run is always the pits for the race, not much they can do to change it though.
