Comments: Felt pretty good in the water. Held back and tried to stay comfortable. Transition 1
Comments: Wetsuit strippers were great, the run up the hill to t1 was not so great. Bike
Comments: Here is where I had some problems. At the 40km mark my rear derailleur broke, and by broke I mean exploded. The plate holding the two wheels on fell off and very shortly after of course the wheels fell off. I had to wait about 35 minutes for someone to stop with a chain breaker. Then took me a little while to shorten the chain and turn my bike into a single speed. For the remaining 54k of the course I was riding 52x24. Made pushing up the hills pretty tough and I was spinning out on most of the downhills. But I was just happy to get the bike back on the road. Overall I lost about 40 mins to just standing around and bike repairs. My garmin had my actual biking time at - 3:08:09. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Run felt good at half way point, started to push it and by 15k I was beat, quads were cramping up every hill, managed to run through it though. Post race
Event comments: Had a great time despite bike issues. Can't wait to go back next year. Last updated: 2010-06-11 12:00 AM
