Swim
Comments: The swim was going great until the last 200 yards or so. I ended up spotting the starting line instead of the finish line. It added at least 3 minutes to my swim. I had to swim parallel to the shore to get out and the correctly place. What would you do differently?: I think I need tinted goggles. Most of these swims end swimming into the sun and I can't see at thing. Transition 1
Comments: Had a hard time getting into my new pedals out of transition. What would you do differently?: Not much. Went relatively OK. Bike
Comments: This was the first ride on my new Cervelo P1. I would not recommend riding your new bike the first time you attempt an Olympic distance tri. It went Ok, but the seat was not comfortable at all and by the end I was dying. I just need to train more on the bike. Its not my favorite. What would you do differently?: Bike more. Get a new seat. Transition 2
Comments: Took some Gu here. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: I was pretty tired by this point. I made a deal with myself that I would run .85 miles and then walk .15 miles. I pretty much stayed with this throughout. The last mile or so I caught a guy in front of me and decided to stay with him and run it in. It was his 40th birthday and he got injured on the bike. It was nice to have someone to talk to and get my mind off the discomfort. What would you do differently?: Train more. Definitely need to do hill training. Post race
Warm down: Walked around. Ate some Oreos. Had a lot of stomach cramping so couldn't do too much. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough running off the bike. Last updated: 2010-08-02 12:00 AM

Got up early and headed to transition. Walked a bit, checked out the water, got set up. Ate a banana and peanut butter.
Not much. Walked the beach and got into my wetsuit (a warm-up in itself).
