Comet - 2010-10-14 4:06 PM I have so many pictures to post!

Puppy Ory was adopted in July when his old owner lost his job and had to give him up. He was 8mo at the time and already
potty and crate trained. He's such a good boy who thinks he's a big dog. He loves to hoard toys, rides in the car & boat too.

What a cutie!

morey000 - 2010-10-15 7:18 PM My running partner Ben (in front).  The other dog in the back (Solomon) is getting a bit old (12-1/2), so I don't take him more than a mile or two, but Ben doesn't appear to have limits.  Not bad for a 7 year old.

Ben's a great partner.  He stays to the side until I say 'cross', listens to my every word when running.  I'm even teaching him "Ben, Turn right", or "Ben, Turn left".

My ex-boyfriends name is Ben...lets just say it is a very appropriate name for your dog.  But that I'm sorry such a sweet four legged creature has to share his name with such a....

Here's another Rudy.  I adopted him in August '08 at the age of 6 months.  He'd been hit by a car and left for dead.  Luckily it was only minor tissue damage.  He is just NUTS (like me) Loves to run more than anything and hike. He carries both our waters and snacks. He's lab mix, just not sure what he's mixed with as he's on the small side.

Oh, I love your Rudy!  Does he have an underbite?  My Rudy does.  Like yours, mine is a rescue, too.  He was abused and set on fire and then left for dead on a beach.  The vet said she's never seen such a sick puppy make it.  Although he still has some scars (the dark patches on his back), he's 6 years old now and the sweetest, most awesome dog!

My boys have that doggie backpack, too.

Here's two of our three.  Lucy is 11 and grumpy.  Ginger is about a year and still very puppyish.  Ginger has been really trying to snuggle with Lucy and finally succeeded.

He does. Ever so slightly.   I don't like the backpack he has. It's ripped already.  REI outlet sells a great one for just $50, going for that one next when it finally falls apart

Yep.  Anytime she's on the couch, she pulls a blanket down on top of her.

This is Ronni.  She is a half lab, half pit (we think).  We adopted her 2 years ago from a shelter near our apartment.

My two kids...

As a side note, one thing you'll notice is that Allie, the female lab mix is a very proper lady.  She loves to cross her front paws when lying down.  She is weird that way.

I really miss my dog now.  One of my few complaints about college is I don't get to see my dog enough.  Here's some pictures of Skye.  The last one is from my first tri in May of this year.

gwmeader - 2010-09-24 9:24 AM Here is our Giraffe-a-Lope (aka - Hobbes).  Tall as a giraffe and runs like an antelope.  One of my daughters and I rescued him from Lab Rescue.  He's definintely part lab, but we are not sure where the pink nose and light eyes came from.  The picture was taken after we left him out back while the sprinklers were on.  He was really proud of the mess he made -

.

Your boy is very handsome and distinguished and I offer the following only as a point of trivia.

I had a lab mix with a pink nose and light eyes as well and pink nose is considered a genetic fault in the breed but obviously occurs often enough that they had to mention in the breed standards and hazel eyes are exceptable color in chocolate labs.

Sorry, I am a dog nerd, but NOT a dog snob. Every dog is perfect for the right person.

IIRC, a yellow lab who has a pink nose and is pink around the eyes had one yellow parent and one chocolate parent. Yours is adorable!

Attached is a picture of a pup we're hoping to adopt in the next week or so. He's at the shelter right now, removed from a home down the street, and they have a week to claim him... it's been four days and the shelter hasn't heard a word from his current humans. These people have a BAD track record with dogs, and we're hoping to give this little guy a good home. According to the shelter folks, he's about 3-3.5 months old.

My buddy Madison, a welsh corgi, who came into my life when I moved in with my girlfriend a few years ago.  His version of the triathlon is eat, sleep, and walk, and he is quite adapt at it.  I brought a small pumpkin home the other day and he is convinced its food and not a decoration.  He must have starred at it nose to pumpkin for an hour that first day.  And he still runs over to it when I tell him to get his toy.
