Run
Comments: I had finished 3 miles about 20+ secs faster pace than last year, so I knew I had about a minute in the bank for a PB if I could stay under 9min pace for the 2nd half of the race. Generally felt pretty strong throughout, which was a nice surprise as I didn't think my fitness was particularly stronger than last year going into it. But I had a nice consistent pace throughout and ended up with a PB by almost 2 mins. This race was the definition of MOP... which for me is really an accomplishment in running :-) What would you do differently?: I should have pushed a little harder after getting the school, but psyched to have broken 52 officially. Post race
Warm down: Just walked around... G2, water, watermelon. What limited your ability to perform faster: Really should be consistently doing 8-10 mi long runs the month before this race and then I think I'll have a shot at sub 50. Event comments: Lots of grab-bag prizes... I ended up with 2 $15 off coupons (for running shoes - thanks RMRS), a bag of coffee, t-shirt, and several coupons for free goodies at Chik Fillet. Totally covered race fee and more importantly, a perfect day for a race. Last updated: 2010-09-15 12:00 AM

Woke up late as the alarm was off by an hour. Kind of silly as I had been laying in bed for a good 40 minutes when I finally said to myself, might as well get up. And then it became a mad rush. Water / Gatorade and a cup of coffee for breakfast then quickly off to the race.
Stretched a little then ran 1/2 mile. Then stretched alot including back which has been bothering me this week.
