Swim
Comments: Navigation quite good for a change. Kept a steady pace and decent form. Long wade at start and finish. Ripped a toenail bad on the way out by stepping on a huge rock. That was terrible!! Transition 1
Comments: I took my suit off immediatly after exiting the water. I think this is a good strategy because the suit dries out too much and gets stuck in the long transition. Also could stand on the carpet to get the suit off which is better than stanidn in the grass/mud of transition. My only problem was deciding at last minute to skip the 2nd jersey. Ended up being a good decision though. Warm up was really cold and I thought I would need the extra clothing. Got plenty heated up in the swim leg and so I just hammered on through w/ the regular gear. Bike
Comments: There was a pretty steady rain throughout. I'm pretty tired of riding in the rain this year. Noone challenged me on the bike. So I get lazy. Faster guys must have gone/ w elites. There was only 1 bike that I could see in transition when I got back. Transition 2
Comments: I think they moved the entrance to t2 this year so I wasn't out of my shoes when I got there. It came up too fast. Ended up being okay as I had to go through lots of mud and water to get to my tranition station. I had real trouble getting into running shoes with ripped toenail on frozen wet feet. Trouble w/ race belt too but time was minimized by buckling it during run Run
Comments: rocks in my shoes were killer. one stuck under each foot were just drilling into me. I actually sat down on the run at one point to dislodge them but they wouldn't move so I kept going. Could barely walk after the finish. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: I think motivation was not there for me. Last updated: 2010-09-22 12:00 AM

Up@515. Waffle peanut butter syrup coffee milk. Out the door by 5:45. Arrived @615. Lots of cars already. Got the last money spot in transition. Consider a few minutes earlier next year.
Run. bike swim. jog to main road and back with 3-4 strides on the way back. Biked a couple miles with high rpm. Got into swim gear and warmed up for swim just at the time they were closing transition. Race at 8:00 but my wave not till 8:30 or later. did several jogs while waiting just to stay warm.
