Can't wait to see you all there!  Look for the tired guy who nearly got struck by a car during my taper run tonight...

Funny though, he never stopped when I yelled for him to "Please repeat yourself!"  (after he yelled after he nearly hit me!)

Good luck to everyone!

Zorro - not to make you nervous or anything, but I bet a ton of people will be checking your results.

Denise

ps - I ran TCM in 2007 and just barely finished - that was the HOT year.

Latest forcast has it at a sunny41 degrees at race start with a slight SW wind.  Sounds very nice to me.

I t was a great day for a run.  Kelly and I are both very tired and pretty sore but quite pleased with ourselves and our new P.R's.

I was a beautiful day for a run.  My wife and I finished to 10 mile 13 minutes faster than last year.

P.S.  Congrats Steve on your sub 60 10-mile.

Thanks MNGopher! It WAS a great morning for a run!

My wife didn't do QUITE as well as she would have hoped in the marathon, but she still finished sub-4:30 (and she finished to farm animals cheering her on). And I suffered for 59:05 in the 10 mile and made my goal. Great morning!!!!

When I went by the farm animals were looking pretty sparse.  The cow was up, another brown critter was down, and the chicken was nowhere to be seen.  After going sub 1 hour though I can see why the chicken was out.  Actually, I probably finished right around the same time as your wife, you were probably off wildly chasing her.  Congrats to all once again.

Yeah, we went in "streaks." Sometimes there were 4 of us going nuts for 20 minutes, while at other times, one of us was in the porta-potty, 1 was "nuzzling" with his girl friend, and the 2 of us that had just ran the 10 Mile were refueling....

It was easier to cheer 2 years ago when I hadn't raced an hour before!

Great job everyone!  Despite sitting and cheering for thousands of folks, I only saw one person (non BT) that I recognized.

Steve, I am sorry to say that we didn't get up early enough to catch you blaze by. But I was thinking good thoughts for you the whole time.

Bryan - that's what you get for not starting in the right place!  When I saw 4:30 go by, I figured I'd missed you.  And I was ready to run with you and everything

It was a perfect day.

Congrats Steve, that's a huge achievement.  Way to hold on!

As for me, I'm just not built to run the marathon.  Every time I try this distance my old knee injury rears its ugly head.  FWIW I was not undertrained either.  The roads were just extra punishing yesterday.  Anyway, I was on a great pace to 3:30, about to ramp it up and the knee deteriorated quite rapidly.  So I quit at mile 20 (no sense in being laid up for 3 months by trying to run through it).  Found the med tent at 21, tried to turn in my chip.  After 20 min they informed me that it might be a couple of hours before I'd get a ride.  So I walked the rest of the marathon instead.  I think I'm going for the 10 miler next year.

Congrats again to Steve - that is amazing!!

And congrats to all 10 Mile & full finishers, and THANK YOU to all the folks cheering out there!

I ended up at 3:26:45, but my chip died after the 20-mile timing mat, so per the official results, it looks like I dropped out of the race.

I had a great race up until that 20-mile point (7:20 mi/min average), but that's when my quads finally said "WTF are you doing to us this year?!? We've had enough!!!!", so that last 10K was rough. Apparently, so rough that even my chip threw in the towel...

In hindsight, I'm glad it turned out that way - if I had ended up BQing, I'd be really bummed right now since I don't have any official results documenting my finish.

All's well that ends well - we all live to race another day - that's the important thing

Cheers, Chris

I wondered what happened, Chris, I am glad you yourself didn't die/dropout.  What a strange thing!

It was crazy - the chip itself looked fine at the end - I handed it in for recycling at the finish.

I went to friend's housewarming party right after the race; I forgot to check or even unpack my phone from my gear bag when I went to the party, and so didn't check my messages until late in the afternoon - when I got home, I had a bunch of vm's from friends & family concerned about my well-being since it appeared that I didn't finish the race & they couldn't get a hold of me...

At that time, I had no idea there was anything wrong with my results, so I was confused by the messages.  I thought they were assuming the worst since I knew I looked like crap as I passed by them all on Summit Ave, but I didn't think I looked THAT bad, lol!  It took me a while to finally piece it all together last night...

The online Mtrack race tracker tool is where it shows my last chip update at mile 20 (then nothing after that), but it's strange that none of my splits (or even any of my registration details?) show up on the online results page.

Maybe it will all correct itself over the next few days.  No big deal either way - heck, it wasn't a PR or BQ, so I'm not concerned about it.  Just happy to enjoy a beautiful day out there with good friends!

Thanks again for the support!

what a great day and a beautiful course...!!!  i had a blast out there... i decided to wear a brett favre jersey for the marathon and the crowds were great...!!!  I went into this thing with no expectations due to lack of training and some injuries...  started out with the 3:40 group...  steadily picked up the pace over the first 5 miles... and felt great pretty much the entire race...  ended up running a 3:11:27...!!!  and feeling pretty strong at the end... very happy with the race and the result...!!!  fun time...!!!

I'm not sure all the results are posted yet, I would keep checking.  Yesterday they were having all kinds of problems and Kelly could not find her results until late last night.  Yesterday they were at 5,400 posted.  Today they only have about 8,000 as finishing.  I heard 11,000 ran the race.  Pretty hard to believe 3,000 either dropped of didn't start.
