Pre-race routine:

Got up at 530a and got everything ready and had a pb and j then out the door. Got to race around 630 and got our tent and chairs setup. Rest of team arrived shortly after.
Event warmup:

My leg was the 3rd so I wasn't running until 915a or so. Just chilled and chatted until close to my time then did some light stretching.

Comments:

Outstanding run. Was hoping to stay under an 8:30 pace and I smashed that. I started off a little fast but decided to see if I could stay there, and I did! Tried to keep it under 8:00 pace and each mile I was still holding it steady. My worst mile was an 8:10 (5th mile) and 2nd worst an 8:02, so I couldn't have asked for anything more. My pacing felt great and I gave it everything I had. If I had pushed any harder then I would have faltered by the end.

Had no issues with the knee and the shoes felt great. Weather was a perfect 75-80 and breezy/overcast. My team ended up having our best year ever and we improved by 5min. I improved my time from last year by 4:43min alone!
What would you do differently?:

Nothing!
Post race
Warm down:

Cold towel, gatorade, and some pizza.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nada

Event comments:

I love this relay. We've been doing it for 6yrs now and it has always been run on time, with great support and food, and it is just a nice fast course to run on.

So, you improved by 4:43...  and your team improved by 5 mins?  Looks like we know who did their work in the past year!

Congrats, T1!  Amazing job.  Another 5 mins off next year?
