Subject: Help Setting Rate of Display for Watts with PowerTap SL 2.4 wireless and Garmin 310xt
I have a client that has a PowerTap SL 2.4 wireless Ant+ with a Garmin 310xt and I want to change the rate of display for her wattage (aka change the time interval that the 310 displays the change in your wattage) so that it is more consistent.  Does any one know how to do that when you are using a Garmin 310 as the computer?  I have a PT with the regular computer and I know how to make this change with that computer, but not the 310.

you can't...there is no such thing with the 310 and that is why the 310 ISN'T ideal its always 1 sec intervals have no fear you can make it work...


make sure that she has Ave. Lap Power on the display.  every time she hits the lap button and she starts the interval that will record the power for this lap.

my power screen usually shows the following:  Heart Rate, Ave Lap Power, Total Power (entire ride), Lap time

I am not concerned with speed, total time, milage.  its not for every but it works....you just have to make sure to press Lap every time when you start interval....

let me know if you want more help...fyi garmin was supposed to make a software update that would allow a change from 1 second to 3 sec or 5 sec....

its a wish list for now but it would be a simple software fix not a hardware fix.  so its definitely doable.  i think as garmin gets closer to releasing its power meter you will see this happened.
