Cool.. as stated in the first thread. I got at least one guy from work to sign up today too. A second says he is going to do it as well.

My first Ultra. It will give me motivation to train over the winter.

Hi All - So you may be seeing the Saturday AM trail run posts here in the MD forum.. well I wanted to give you a heads up that we are planning to do a "kick-off" run on Saturday, 11/6 up on the race course and either do 2 loops of the 5 mile start loop or one loop of the 13.7 mile loop depending on who shows up and how we are all feeling that day...

I'll post more details closer to the date but this is a "save the date" if you [your wife, or your co-workers] want to check out the actual race course with a veteran HAT 50k runner (SCamp) and a vocal stream crosser (me).. you are invited

Also, feel free to come on out and join us any other Saturday AM, it's an open invite and we're out there most weekends.

Hope your training is going well! (and keep your fingers crossed that we don't have the blizzards like we did last year or we are all going to be cursing this decision come February!)

~Christy

That might be a bit of an oversell but I have done the race before and ran in the park a few times.

What kind of plan are you using? I'm putting the finishing touches on mine but it will be a 6 day a week run very slow plan.

As it turns out we are going to have push this back a few weeks and run local this weekend for anyone who was thinking of joining up tomorrow.  We'll be at PVSP 8AM tmw... see the next thread if you're interested.

Maybe we can shoot for the first Saturday in December. That's a 10 mile day.

My plan has me doing my long runs on Sundays but Saturdays are fine too. I can modify without issues. I definitely want to hit the course a few times before the race.

I'm in for this.  I had to take a few weeks off from running after my 50 miler - I had some discomfort in my foot.  Last week I started back running.  Got an 8 miler in this morning without ANY pain or discomfort.  I'll keep the pace slow and start building and see what I can come up with for this 50K.

I was bummed to have to take a few weeks off but I think I can get back into decent enough shape to complete this event with a smile.

6 weeks to go and the snow is melting. Maybe the trails will be "runable" again soon. I'll be happy if we don't get anymore snow this winter.

Well, maybe just one more storm so that we can have an official blizzard run!

I haven't been out for over 2 weeks because of the snow/ice. I'm out of town this weekend but next weekend I hope to be back out there.

I completed my last real training session for the 50K yesterday - 10 mile trail race in the rain and mud.  I figure the extra effort through the mud is worth adding at least 2 miles to my training log.  Smile
