Everyone happy and healthy?

I totally missed my PR and was 15min worse than last year, but I still feel more satisfied after my second.  I trained as much as I could within the constraints of family and job, and I really left everything out there.  I am just not as fast as I thought I was or want to be.

Hope everyone feels a sense of accomplishment.  As I was gutting through the last 3-4 miles I realized; this is really hard, and everyone doing it is a winner.

Congrats to all.

I had a great first marathon yesterday!  Finished close enough to my goal time to be happy.  I planned my 'perfect' finish time to be a 3:30 and my 'happy' time at 3:40 and my 'oh-no, this hurts a lot' time at 3:50.  I finished 3:42.

Nice course and plenty of people at each aid station.  I was surprised at how many people were out at different points of the course - and cheering very loudly.  That was very cool.

Next year?  Maybe.  I'd like to do Detroit too.

Hope everyone else is doing well too!

It was my first half and I couldn't have asked for a better race! I loved the course, the volunteers and spectators were great, weather awesome, and the post-race food - who can argue with beer, chili, and ice cream? Yum! I finished in 2:21:58 which beat my goal by 8 minutes so I am thrilled with that. No injuries, but my left groin is oddly sore today and knees are achy.

Very well organized race. The course itself was pretty good. It has its pros and cons, but then again so does every other race. I would run it again in a few years for a change of scenery. Grand Rapids is a great city and would love to go back and visit the night life. Ran a 3:07:04 and registered for Boston this morning!

Job well done to everyone who finished! It was a perfect race day.

You the man SkierDan!!!!  That is some smoking fast running.  Great job to everyone else.  I've been thinking about GR next year instead of Detroit.  We'll see.
