I grew up there. Osh-ner.  Easy does it.

Anyway, that race is on my bucket list. I've heard such great things.

That's how the native's pronounce it, but you should hear how they butcher most other words.

Correct pronunciation is oks-ner.

I'm planning to do it as my IM CDA tuneup - it will be HIM #2 for me. Looking forward to a flat course at sea level. There is a race group thread up and running.

I'm assuming this is your first HIM?  I'm doing my first in June...I will be totally checking your logs to follow your training journey!

I think the only thing you'll need to be careful about is selecting the right pre-race "hydration".  Post race shouldn't be an issue though.  Should be a great race with an awesome finish location!

Probably see you there.  Will be my 2nd HIM and it was my first HIM.  As for the pronunciation just say NOLA and you are set (at least it works for me).  BTW make sure to spend a day or two in New Orleans afterwards to enjoy the city.  Bourbon street is a fun thing to experience but probably not before a HIM.  I spent last night on Bourbon street so I have first hand knowledge!
