it was about half a mile'ish from dismount on 83rd.. it's terrible quality because i was walking back from taking pictures on the seawall and wasn't prepared to take her picture... but i have the same wetsuit and it happened to catch my eye..

i'll post the rest of the pics i took (~400) as soon as i get them uploaded.

That....and I was so estatic on to be at the end, that I cannot account from turning off of the seawall to T2 (other than a d-bag who was in the penalty tent and was released as I was passing.....not looking and just took off).

I can't imagine with that wetsuit around her waist she was able to get into aero position. I would imagine she had some serious chaffing going on like behind the knees and such. Bless her heart.

I thought for sure you all were making this up, so I looked on the photgrapher's site and she really did the bike like that.

In fairness to the girl, I won't say her name or race number, but if you scroll through the bike pictures on ASI, there is really a picture of her on Seawall about to make the left to Moody Gardens.

I looked up her name and, to her credit, she finished in 7:00:24, which, when you consider the wetsuit, toe warmers, wind and heat, is pretty awesome. In fact, that's incredible. I think if that were me, you all would be posting about the dead guy you saw at the Valero station in Pirates Beach.

Good for you, girl! You definitely win the toughest one out there award. Leave the wetsuit in T1 and I'll bet you go 6:10 next time out.

(But if you're going to go wetsuit on the bike, you gotta run a disc.  ;>  )

Ok....that makes me feel real good about my time! I finished 13 minutes after her! UGH! She must have kicked butt on the run because I passed her on the bike. Did she also run with the wetsuit?

The run pics online are without the wetsuit. Although I thought several people said they saw her on the run with it as well.

I still can't believe they let her out of T1 with it on let alone T2.

Toughest isn't the word I'd use to describe her.

i took my wife's nice camera down and took some photos of some teammates doing this race.. i am not quite as good as she is with the camera so they aren't sports illustrated quality or anything but feel free to steal any of them if i happened to get some of you or someone you know..

i was sitting about mile 53ish of the bike on the sea wall in a red shirt.. so if you remember seeing some dude pointing a camera at you, your picture is probably in here..

please feel free to share with any folks that do not post here..

Are they not doing this race next year?  I see on the ironman events page they already have the date for new orleans but they don't have a date for galveston.  My friend and I wanted to do this race next year so I could do better than this year (which shouldn't be hard since I am SLOW) and she wanted to do her first close to home.

April 1, 2012...getting earlier every year! It's posted on the race website. Yeah, strange that it's MIA on the IM70.3 homepage.

Yeah, hopefully it'll post soon to the IM70.3 homepage.  And I just looked and it's not April 8th because that is Easter weekend but not sure about why it couldn't be April 15th unless there is something going on in Galveston that weekend.

Oh well, just excited that at least I know a date now that I can put down in my calendar :-

Could be the WTC is trying to schedule IMTX earlier too, so it would make sense that LoneStar would get moved up too.

Well, WHENEVER it is, I will be signing up... I hate having a DNF on my sheet, even if it WAS from a bike crash.
