I think for $7.99 you are only allowed to posess one disc at a time. You send one back and they send you another one. However, you can still stream as many movies as you want. If you have a PS3, Wii, or Xbox you can use that system. You can also use your computer. Some newer TVs have the capability built in, as do some set-top boxes. The streaming movies are generally not new releases. It's cool! Still, I cancelled a couple years ago because we weren't watching enough movies to make it pay. We maybe rent one movie a month. maybe. |

I love my Netflix. I get it on our Xbox 360's and there are a lot of movies we can pull down instantly. As for the DVD's, the only "catch" I can think of is that you can only have 1 out at a time (depending on which service you purchase.) However, I will say that their shipping is very quick. I like the streaming instant queue for my exercise room. With no commercials, each episode of The Office is 20 min. That makes it nice for a 1hr run. I get to watch 3 episodes. |

Alpharetta, Georgia | Subject: RE: Learn me about Netfilx.... Love Netflix. I have the $7.99/month subscription as well. I put a movie in the mail Monday (postage and envelope paid by Netflix), get an email Tuesday that says "We've received ABC movie" Then I get an email usually the same day (Tuesday) that says "We shipped XYZ movie from your queue" And I get it on Wednesday. You can rate movies online and it will "suggest" movies for you based on your ratings. |

Pro 4828 The Land of Ice and Snow | Subject: RE: Learn me about Netfilx.... Ah...ok. So I was actually just really thinking of the streaming, not the DVDs. So. With that said , what can you tell me about the streaming? I plan on using either my Macbook, or streaming through the kids Wii or PS3. And what is the movie selection like? I am totally OK with older releases. I have a lot of catching up to do......seems I have been spending my free time at this little hobby I picked up in the past few years, not watching movies!!! |

Queen BTich 12411 , | Subject: RE: Learn me about Netfilx.... I pay the $13.99-ish for 2 movies at a time plus unlimited streaming. I watch it on my xbox or computer. Love it. I catch up on HBO/Showtime series, old regular tv seasons and tons of older movies. Great for the trainer or just when you're bored. |

Master 1584 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Learn me about Netfilx.... I think for Canada, Netflix is limiting it to streaming only. I find the streaming library to be mediocre, and would not pay for the service if it didn't have the standard disc mailers as well. |

Extreme Veteran 3177 | Subject: RE: Learn me about Netfilx.... My wife and I have had it for about 4 years now and love it. We have the 3 discs at a time deal and probably go through about 20 discs a month, sometimes more during times when my wife is not in school as a teacher. It is mostly for my wifes enjoyment and great for when we do not have cable. We also stream many hours of movies and TV shows on our computer/laptop/ and Wii. They are very well organized and for all of my experience have had great customer support. |

Master 1946 Memphis, TN | Subject: RE: Learn me about Netfilx.... My distribution center is in town so we have a 2 day turnaround. Nice. We have the two disc with bluray upgrade. We also have it streaming to the XBOX and my bluray player. It's really great. I'd never go back to a rental store or big red box again. No catch on this either. |

One of the big major movie studios and NBC both signed new agreements with Netflix. http://news.cnet.com/8301-13506_3-20017517-17.html |

Expert 3126 Boise, ID | Subject: RE: Learn me about Netfilx.... Unless you are a movie fanatic going through tons of movies I don't think the selection of instant movies will run out that quick. Also when it does you can watch all sorts of different tv shows. And (nerd alert) they have a lot of documentary type shows, of which I am very fond. That part alone could keep you going for months. |

Yeah sorry, streaming. DVD wise they have almost everything. Streaming, not so much. |

Champion 10018 , Minnesota | Subject: RE: Learn me about Netfilx.... I really like movies and I find that the streaming choices are good. I am not a movie snob, which helps. I do still get one disc at a time for anything I cannot get streaming. But some nights I will sit at the computer and find 20 new movies to add to my instant watch queue. They are not often movies I have heard of, but I have found some gems. A LOT of foreign language films are available, if you like that. The searching/sorting and recommendations are very good if you're diligent about rating movies. I watch through my TiVo and it's mostly troublefree. If I try to watch on a weekend night it will sometimes reload (pausing) a few times at the beginning and occasionally drop from HD quality to a poorer signal. I am fairly sure this is a problem with my internet and not the service. Only 3-4 times had I had to give up on a night like that. My mom uses her mini laptop and connects it to her TV with a cable, using the TV just as a monitor. She says that works great. All in all, Netflix has improved my quality of life for a ridiculous low price. Have fun with it! p.s. You can friend people and see what they're watching and get suggestions, I recommend doing this with like-minded people. I also recommend rating moves you've seen to build your recommendations database. |

Champion 10018 , Minnesota | Subject: RE: Learn me about Netfilx.... Wow, I didn't hear that! I've actually gotten two discounts from them since being a customer (many years) due to class action law suits about pricing. And I will also admit that I am paying $8.99 a month for what others are apparently paying 7.99... Ooops. And I had to look at my account to see what I paid. Not stupid, just maybe a little lazy about things that fall well below my financial radar. Pro 4578 Vancouver, BC | Subject: RE: Learn me about Netfilx.... Yeah, Netflix has been available here for a few weeks. I'm pretty sure that we don't have a DVD option, so that's why it's only $7.99 in Canada. Everyone at my office seems to have signed up. You can stream wirelessly to some game systems, Apple TV and your iPhone, iPad, iTouch. Most here at work are streaming over 3G to an iPhone and they've had no issues at all. I have a Touch, so I plan to stream wirelessly though that. I can't comment on my first hand experience yet because I haven't signed up yet. I was already to go with the second gen Apple TV, but the Apply TV (2nd gen) wasn't available yet. It should be here soon, maybe this weekend. Now the SO and I are trying to decide to go with Apple TV or a netbook though. We have a laptop that we could stream to, but it's to old and won't accept an HDMI cable, so I can't connect it to my TV. I think I have all this excitment because I only got a TV 3 months ago after not having one for 11 years and I haven't had cable for 11 years. I've got a lot of TV watching to catch up on. |
