Got to race early to get good parking space. Prepared transition area then tried to relax.

Great swim. I had the usual "Why am I doing this?" and other negative thoughts for the first 2-300 yards. Fortunately, I got them out and just concentrated on swimming a straight line.

Took it easy since I knew it was going to be a long day.
What would you do differently?:

Skip the wet suit strippers. My left leg started to cramp when they yanked the suit. This happened last time I used the strippers.

My goal was to finish in 3:15 and I did 3:05. My hill climbing needs work. Kept getting passed by a woman on an old bike every uphill.
What would you do differently?:

More hill training.

A bike on one side was too close and I knocked it off the rack. It didn't fall but it took some time to move it and get mine racked. There was little room to move.

I started out at about a 9:30 pace, much faster than I planned. Slowed down a bit and had a nice pace for 7 miles. I got tired, felt like it was hard to breathe, stomach tight and started to run/walk for the rest of the race. I missed my goal of sub 6 but was still happy with the results.
What would you do differently?:

Better nutrition on the bike. I had 2 bottles of Accelerade and only drank about 1-1/2.
