Let's not forget that we are also hosting the 5150 series that WTC is starting next year.

I'm planning on previewing the course this weekend.  Is there anything I should be aware of in regards to condition of the roads or spots that aren't as safe as others?  Will I have access to all areas of the course or need to make a detour for any sections?  I don't really need to preview the lake swim, but I am scheduled to get wet.  Is the lake an option?  Thanks.

Hey Destroyer,

There's a small portion of the road under construction when you leave from Lake Las Vegas, but people are still riding it, just use some caution, apart from that, bring lots of water

Probably goes without saying, but start very early. I've been starting my 50 milers around 5am and it's hot when I finish.

You'll have to head to Boulder Beach if you want to get wet.  It's not the same, as Lake Las Vegas resort area is a little more calmer, while Boulder Beach is Lake Mead (and colder), and very rocky.

Other than that, if you park at Lowes, away from the public area (park in the corner) in the parking lot on the right side instead of the left side.

Biking shouldn't be an issue - go very early, and bring lots of water as there's no water stops along the route.

Running - I have no idea what's the route is, but if it's around the resort, you shouldn't have an issue, but if it's on the right side of the Resort, taking you to a trail and run around the mountain - there is a gate, and it will be closed off.   The website doesn't have a map yet, so I can't tell you if that's where the run section is. It was for the other triathlons that I was in.

Good LUCK!!

Thanks all!  I'll be sure to be careful with the heat.  Your Low temps for the weekend are about the same as the Highs we've had this week.

The run is three loops.  It starts at the Multigen center heading to Paseo Verde Park and back, then down Green Valley Parkway for another U-Turn.

Oh then in that case, you'll have no problems doing the run course! Just do it early in the morning.  There should be some gas stations/stores around on Green Valley, so it should be okay water wise.

Have fun!!

The 3 Sisters is going to be a b!tch. I have not done it...but I've heard stories. I'm going to try to tackle it later in the season when it gets cooler.

Good luck!!

Good morning all,

For the one that wanted to know, Lake Las Vegas is a private resort, so swimming there is not allowed. The only place where you can go swimming is Loews resort, our sponsoring facility. Also, during the summer months, Swim Las Vegas and other groups do have open water swim practices from Loews where we have different distance options. Please feel free to join them.

For the bike course, we are using Spring Mountain at this time, and the three sisters is not part of the race course. Please check our web site for the latest information.

For the run, its a friendly three loop course near the multi-gen center in Henderson. We have selected an awesome course, and good luck to all who either got a lotery/raffle to get there, or qualified. I'll see you all there on the water.

Cheers
