I'm going to be in Louisville next week visiting family, and I'm going to bring my bike. Anyone know of some good bike routes? I'm thinking of going up to Clark state forest, it has some nice hills, but I'm not sure of the road conditions. Thanks

I live in the Louisville area, actually right across the bridge in southern Indiana, for a awesome flat route follow River Road, it goes out for about 15-20 miles - start at the downtown waterfront and follow River Road east. Cherokee/Senecca park also has designated bike paths where the car traffic is one way, and some nice hills. Both places will have lots of bikers, but only go on River Road during the weekend where it is very quiet. During the week it's crazy with commuters.

Thanks for the info. I'll be there during the week so I'll stick to the park.

I see you're from the Lousiville area. I invited you to check out the Fort Knox Multisport Club for events. I'll post them whenever they come up. We recently had a sprint tri at Fort Knox. We also have had some adventure racing.

I was at the triathlon that the Fort Knox multisport club held in October, as a matter of fact I won the women's division! I thought the course was awesome and was happy to see a good turnout. I will keep my eyes peeled for any activities you guys have. I actually live right across the bridge from Brandenburg in Indiana, but I do a lot of rides with the Southern Indiana Wheelmen, and Louisville Bike Club, so as far as group activities I am kind of stretched thin.

That's great. It was my first tri. I should have done well in it but I had a few factors that killed me. I think the cold (I'm from Florida) along with swimming too fast and drinking the free Red Bull (what was I thinking) contributed to me vomiting at the High School on the bike route. I was then dehydrated and just fought the DNF.

I love the route. I didn't like the pool too much. We tried to get the 8 lane, 50 meter pool for an 800 m swim. That would have been neat and made it a little more dispersed. I like the bike route. The rolling hills really separate abilities. Then the run was neat because of the soccer games. My son was playing in a soccer game that day.

I'm happy you enjoyed participating with us. I am going to be more active with management next year so I'll be sure to bring that enthusiasm to the club!

After the holiday's I will look into joining. I was thinking it was going to be at the Anderson pool (is that what they call it?), but I really did not mind it. Maybe it's because I like to get the swim OVER! But when telling people about this tri I told them the pool swim was suprisingly ok, plus I think it's great for first time people.

LOL, the Red Bulls will do that to you! But again, I thought it was so cool that they were even there! The only negative, would be to have a more decorative shirt, but hey, beggers can't be choosers.

Hope to meet you in the New Year - Amy
