We used to "build" offshore / inshore fishing boats like this, and out fit 'em. It was pretty fun. Maybe after building the bike we can put the "ultimate" tri-package together. Shoes shorts, bike, bike shoes, swim suit, shades, wet suit... Or tri trip..wait...that would Kona...nebber mind! |

Would you really want to run 19mm tires on a rim as wide as the new Firecrests? I'd think that could go badly. And why 7800? |

I amend that to a Conti SuperSonic (have to see how narrow I could go ) 7800... well, it's less of a PITA if something goes wrong than 7900, and 7800 is easier to mess with... and as much as I like Di2, Part of me just likes the good ole' mechanical shifting. Although if Campy would take care of TT'ers and make a friggin' indexed 11 shifter... I'd possibly amend it to Carbon Super Record 11... ya know...for bling appeal. |

I rode a friends bike that had it installed and I was amazed by it! But I didn't get off that bike feeling like I wanted it for myself. When you're talking Red or Dura Ace components, they work so well that I enjoy using the mechanical shifting. Why the P4 over one of the other new superbikes? |

Champion 7136 Knoxville area | Subject: RE: Build The Perfect (TRI) Bike AndrewMT - 2010-10-17 10:56 AM Why the P4 over one of the other new superbikes? Well, in my mind the P4 is the "superbike" that gets right down to it with no frills added. The Scott, after seeing it, looks like you MUST have Di2 on it... the cable routing looks horrible for a superbike otherwise. The Trek I've sat on a few times... I'm not a huge fan of the fully integrated bars, and although some of the "tech" is cool, it looks like it would be a huge pain to upkeep. Giant Advanced / Specialized Shiv... some of the same gripes as the Trek... plus the cones rubbing sounds like a hassle. Although I admit, I lust over the "S-Works black bike" Shiv. The LOOK is pretty tight looking, but I think it's only borderlining on "superbike" And I would just rather have the P4 over the Felt DA... although I like the DA a lot too... it's probably my second choice... it or the Pinarello Graal. (That thing Looks friggin amazing...) |
