I am not certain if I will be running this WITH my soon to be 16 year old daughter or just in the same race.  BT, what say you?

My wife and I will be running the WDW Half.  Unfortunately, we will be at completely different paces but I am hoping to head back and run the finish with her after I have already finished.  Will be the first Half for both of us.  We are pretty excited!

I am running with friends, doing their first 1/2. I look at this as a scenic run, enjoy all that Disney has to offer take a ton of pics and finish. I am looking for a way to hook up my flip camera to some sort of head gear to video the entire run, any thoughts?
It will not be close to a personal best, but this one is with friends.

I will be doing the Disney Half with my fiance and her cousin. It is looking like it's going to be my second half marathon and I am only planning to run it for fun right now. We will see how that goes on race day of course. lol.

I'll be there as well.  Though, with recent medical issues (thankfully not what was feared, but all separate issues popping up at once) I am hoping to keep a 10 minute per mile pace rather than hoping for under 2 hours. I did my first half a couple months back in 2:07.  For this one I'm hoping for around 2:15.

I'll be there doing the Goofy's Challenge.  Just doing this all for fun.  Not time goals in mind at all.  Finish is good enough.

The characters are off to the side every so few miles.  You can stop and take pix with them, and many do.  Last year (I had to bow out as I was injured) it was very cold.  The previous year it rained and was really cold.  So prepare for that.  Another nice run in slightly warmer weather, is the Disney Princess half mary usually late Feb or early March.  Similar routes, characters... better weather, but no Goofy.   Good luck to all you BTers doing these!

You could say this is my A race for the year. Not that I'm looking to go for a great time, but it got everything started.

Last October we took our kids to WDW, and it was amazing. I used to be a "corporate mouse" hater. but with the eyes of a 4 and 7 year old, I experienced true magic. I've also completely re-evaluated the Little Mermaid as a father of a daughter now.

Anyway. I found untapped energy on our visit, and no one in my family knew where it came from. A few weeks later, December 1, I woke up and told my wife it was now 15months until I turn 40. (Leap Year 2012) - I said "I think it's time to work on something big. I want to do something before I turn 40, like bench 250." - She said "forget that. How about the WDW 1/2 marathon in January 2012?" I thought for exactly .00456 seconds and said "you're on."

I put on some cotton clothes (knew no better) and a jacket and shoes and went right out the door into the cold December rain. (one day shy of a great Guns N Roses reference)

I started swimming a week later, and the 2011 triathlon schedule began to take shape. And here I am. I posted in this forum some time ago about the Clearwater 5150 in November. That's the end of year one of Doughboy to Ironman. Year two opens with the WDW 1/2.

There's a hardcore Disney fanatic running site called www.runningoftheears.com in case anyone is interested. I found it before I found BT. My handle is a Disney reference. Toy Story aliens. OOOOOO, the claw.......
