Subject: What to look for in used trainer / rollers?
So, I'm on a budget (grad student), but I'd like to keep up my bike training over the winter.  I'm looking at getting rollers or a trainer on craigslist (preferring rollers right now).  I know that I'll need to be careful starting out on rollers, but that's not what I'm getting at with this thread.  My question is, if I get a chance to look at whatever I get before I buy (highly preferred), what exactly should I look for?  Worn bearings, etc?  Any tips you could pass on to me would be awesome.  Thanks!

If there are no obvious signs of abuse then you're not going to find worn bearings until after you get them home and ride them a few times anyway.

Stripped threads, bent rails, too much play in the spindles, dented drums. That's about all I can think of that could be wrong that you would see.
