Subject: Power Meter recommendations
I just bought a new Carmichael Training video, and he uses both cadence and power output in the workout. I have a cadence meter, but how helpful/useful/necessary is a power meter?

Does anyone have any recommedations for an economical power meter?

I'm trying to take my cycling to the next level in all aspects (centuries/tt/crits) and thought a power meter just might be too much. I'm still a Cat4 rider

Any opinions and insights would be greatly appreciated.

My recommendation for an indoor trainer with Power Meter... CompuTrainer.

Ya computrainer has the best inddor trainers. My advice for a portable trainer is to not get one. The money would be better spent on wheels.
