Seashore Nature Trail 50k : Official Thread

Hey Raleigh gang-

I'm supremely interested in this race after jrj0924's description of it (plus I love VA Beach...it holds special memories from 2009 for me!)  My problem is race budget; I can scrape together the entry fee, but I don't think we'll be in a position for the whole family to make the trek up to VA Beach a week before Christmas for me to do this race.

I know some have family in the area they'll stay with, but what about anyone else?  I'd be interested in carpooling up early morning on race day (4 hour drive or so from Apex), which would mean an approx. 2am departure; also interested in room-sharing Friday night.

I really think this would be a first "long" race for me.  I'm starting to add some distance, have done 3 20 mile long runs over the past 3 weeks (dropping back next weekend, but will push up in coming weeks).  I'll top out somewhere near marathon distance or slightly more before a post-Thanksgiving taper.

Any takers on carpool or roomshare, or both?
