I'm doing this one; I like the summer one and it's 10 min from my house. Of course, I underestimated how cold it will be. But I guess it's only an hour right?

Signed up since it's a couple blocks from the house.  Not looking forward to the cold weather though.

I tend to not breathe well when the water is too cold.  Hope they pump the heaters up.

Picking up a cycle jacket for T1 today, and I'll be there bright and early tomorrow AM!!!! At least the last mile of the run won't feel like being in a broiling oven like it did in July!!!

Well I don't have a jacket to wear on the bike.  I was thinking of just throwing on a long sleeved fitted technical T or just going with arm warmers.

It's a short ride-long sleeved cotton t and jersey...have jacket standing by
2 towels as suggested one at the pool exit area, if I can, and one in the transition.

I have no cold tolerance, so  tolerance, so I think I am going to swim in my tri shorts and a sports bra, then put on a long sleeves technical t-shirt, tights and a cycling jacket.  I'll take the jacket off for the run if I am warm.  That is what I would probably wear for a bike ride in the same weather (except for the wet clothes underneath!Wink .

At packet pick up I was told the water should be 80 degrees. So getting will be fine, getting out maybe a challenge

Brutally COLD race!! Thank god I bought a Pearl Izumi jacket yesterday.  How did everyone do? I placed 2nd in Male 30-34 finishing in 1:09:07.

I was just happy to finish and get back indoors haha! Great job to all of the toughest athletes I've ever met-this one took a LOT of heart. A+ !!

Didn't think it was too bad.   I never thought to myself that I was freezing.   The only bad part was the cold thighs at the beginning of the bike.  Felt hard to get them going on the cold.

Seems like the bike course was a little long (.5 mi) and the run a little short ( .1 mi) according to my Garmin.  Bike split is missing completely so that sucks.  Run split is a little fast.   Oh well.

2nd in Clydes 39 and under so I'll take it.  Although there were only 5 in the category.  Should have  just stuck with M30-34.

Grats to everyone.

The swim and bike were fairly comfortable. Standing around nearly naked for my time to enter the water was tough though. I never felt very good in the water-just warm, but more easily winded than before. But this was my first, maybe race nerves?

I thought the first three minutes of the bike were brutally cold! After that it was just fine I thought and the run was pleasant even. 1st pl division, 1:17 (guess some gals stayed home as that was good enough for 5th OA female.)

I like this race and its super close for me, but wow I dislike that new bike course. Wish we could have stuck with the same course as the summer event.
