...Baseball!! No Doubt.

No time clock

The defense has the ball

Strategy, strategy, strategy!

The Bible starts with "in the Big Inning"

Even non athletes can excel like Phil Niekro

No two ballparks are the same

Peanuts

Seriously, the strategy in baseball is so much more in depth than any other sport. The number of situations that can and do arise in each game in unmatched by any other sport. This is the best time of the year!

P.S. if you try to disprove my findings you are a loser!

You just don't get the same experience watching on TV. why is it that when you're at the ballpark, there are no bad seats? I'm very happy to have 2 "small market" teams in the Ws.

ps: I lkove Buster Posey! kid is clutch.

I agree!!  The best thing about baseball is watching the first 1.5 innings - take a 3 hour nap - wake up to watch the 8th & 9th.  Simply can't beat it if you are bored to death!!

My wife and I love minor league baseball.  We lived near Evansville, Indiana a few years and would take in a few Otters games each year.  WHat made it better was it was at Bosse Field, where a lot of "A League of Their Own" was filmed.  Some of the old advertisements are still up.  We have been to Peoria, IL a few times as well to watch the Chiefs.

What we like about it is the players are playing hard to move up or be noticed.  Makes for great baseball.

Did anyone else see Ken Burn's Home played before the game? It was awesome. (here it is) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQj1kvP8UjY

I think baseball is a thinking man's sport. My 6 year old can throw a ball in a hoop every once in a while, I could run 100 yards and score a touch down, but it takes skill to hit a 98 mph fastball and has tail, or a wicked curve at 86. I love this game!

Go Giants!

I just can't get into the game.  I believe it's similar to how many others don't like to watch soccer.  Really hoping none of my sons (3 so far) pick up the game.  I dread having to spend all Saturdays at a ball park.  If they do get into it, I fully intend to disallow "Fall Ball".  A bit off subject, but I hate the idea of a kid spending so much time with one activity.

I find it boring as all what not...

What would be an ideal sport in college?

Hot women.
Free tickets to March Madness, with per diem $$$, sideline and back stage access.

National competition in spring in Daytona Beach.
10 women for every guy.
20 women for every straight guy.

If only something like that existed...

I'd agree that the game of baseball is pretty cool (football is still the best team sport going), but the sport of MLB is painful. Most pro sports are hard to watch (so don't try to defend baseball by attacking football) with all the stoppages for TV and whatnot, and all show boating athletes (my team is losing horribly but I made a nice play so I'm going to celebrate), but baseball is excruciating.

The thing that bugs me the most is, with all the money that's made in the sport, nobody has a decent pair of batting gloves. What the hell? They have to readjust them after every pitch. If I could invent a pair of gloves that stay securely fastened and properly adjust for more than a 20 seconds I'd make a fortune!

Nope - I would take football or hockey before baseball BUT above basketball.

Australian rules football is my favorite spectator sport. I cannot get into baseball. I like American football but not as much as Aussie rules. I have had season tickets for our college football team since I moved here. I prefer watching sports that don't stop too much so I actually like soccer.

*sigh* time to make some enemies-
I hate baseball. Ever since the strikes; (Remember those?) greedy @$$es. Plus, it's pretty boring to watch, sporatic high points.

American football can be fun to watch, especially if it's a close game, and your team is winning(Go Chargers!). But it can get boring sometimes, too.

Rugby and ice hockey are the best sports to watch, IMHO. (and triathlons, of course!)

Basketball doesn't even exist in my little universe.

Title IX has determined that this is not a sport. Personally, I fully understand the athletecism of it, but the NCAA says not a sport. Not sure where they stand on bowling...

Jorge Posada and Vlad Guerrero don't wear batting gloves.  There must be a few more, but I know they don't off the top of my head.

triarcher - 2010-10-28 2:56 PM You guys are missing the best part about baseball..........At the start of the 7th inning, all the players get on the field, take their caps off while someone sings God Bless America.

Or Take me out to the ball game.....

Don't take this personally, but you are NUTS! Football (which I love) is memorizing plays. Baseball is a game of situations. I could spend hours on this, but no time. The World Series is calling! Go Giants!

Yes, all 11 players memorizing multiple plays out of multiple formations against multiple fronts. Then they have to execute in the face of 11 opposing players who aren't running the same plays. All at speed.

Football has way more situations. In fact, there are situations involving every player on every play. 22 players. Every play. Even on the best baseball plays there are maybe 5 guys actually involved.

You're right.  What could be more complicated than "This guy pulls the ball so we move to the left"?
