Do you believe a healthy diet, and proper lifestyle leads to tri success??
Do you have the same seriousness in triathlons as you do in life?
Do you believe duathlons are equally viable for athletics as triathlons?

Then go to another team.

We're looking for 7, I think, members to win the challenge and have a pint while doing it! That's right, we'll be the table at the pub who's being rowdy, obnoxious and a complete ass! (hey, everyone notices you more).

And hey, if you feel like asking your captain for a decent swim workout here or there, come to Team Redundancy Team (the team name is pending approval).

Well, Hi there!
Looks like there is only 2 of us so far that have taken up the challenge of August.
Would seem to me that It would take a couple of hard working Canadians to keep this team rolling!

Sherri

well for starters, you can join me on a 4-hour swim bike brick and 90 minute strengthening session... but seriously, if anyone does a 3 hour brick and says "in your face greg!" You can be sure that I'm going out for a three hour brick myself. Just get an idea of what your mileage will be, and any other goals you have... and possibly help me with mine.

Checking in. SFSC, you have a PM with my goals:

20K Swim, 200 Bike, 25 run.

I would really like to work on some side goals for my running time, but I need to figure out a base to work on. I haven't been timing myself at all.

These are my goals for August:

Bike:  90 miles

Run/Walk:  12 hours

Swim:  12 hours

Strenght training:  10 hours

This will be a real step up for me, but in no way unreachable.  I have a race on Sunday, so my mileage will be a little less this week and then will really pick-up next week.

Tabasco: with those training goals, you'll have no problem destroying your first sprint.
I don't think it matters metric/imperial, because we're working with percents. Welcome to the Team!!!

Courtney: Hell no! I really liked your blogs, and how you fit triathlons into your life. Maybe I just have too much fun on BT

Oliveview: those are crazy hours as well. I feel inspired now!

Everyone: What's the concensus on calling ourselves Team Redundancy Team? Also, I need help with my training goals: I destroyed swimming, but I don't care about swimming much (it doesn't help you win), I"m thinking 20k instead of 15k. I didn't make 280K bike last month, but I logged in an easy 65K today... 350K sound good? I want to be amazing at running... but I don't want to injure myself, 90K up from 70K last month?
I have a side goal of running sub 4:00/km in my olympic at month end, but I need a cycling goal!!

Hi there. Looks like they put me over here, but I like the pint concept so that's fine. We're not putting a tally on the number of those we expect to down for the month are we?

Here's my goals:

1. Swim 10,000 yards (definitely my toughest event)

2. Run 40 miles

3. Bike 200 miles

If I start off slow, don't worry - I'll make it up. I have finals next week (grad school - ick) that may interfere with training. But then I have the rest of the month free (aside from work of course) to make it up. Errrrr, I do have a tri on the 28th, but still. I'll get there.

Vodka's perfectly acceptable so long as it's with Red Bull or a Bloody Mary. I make a mean bloody mary! (wanting one now, dangit)
