Subject: I never thought I'd miss running.
A few years ago this is something that no one, myself included, would expect me so say.

But here I am. I've basically not run for a little under a year now. My doctor moved up my return date from Christmas to Thanksgiving. So I went to pick up new shoes from my friends at Fleet feet Fox Valley. Now it's real and the anticipation is killing me. I miss the availability. I don't have to drive to the pool, and it's getting uncomfortably cold to ride. I miss running on snow covered streets. I really miss how I could do 13 mile runs and still feel good at the end. I need to keep that last feeling in mind because I know it's going to be a struggle to get back into it. But I can't wait. Maybe a Turkey trot/walk (mostly walk) will be in order to celebrate on Thanksgiving morning.

Did you join the crappy weather challenge? I thought about it, but I never follow through with inputing my data. Though I might start logging my run info again just so I can see how I am progressing.

I like my idea of starting on Thanksgiving. That's the week I'm allowed to start so I'll just have to wait till Thursday.

I'll keep you company in the suffering.

Perhaps we can all run some for aqua-gal...  Maybe we'll run enough for her so she can have a marathon or something.

Dave ... I feel EXACTLY LIKE YOU!

I never thought I would miss it. But I do. I can't wait to run again. I tried to run 2 miles last night and my stupid Achilles started hurting again. 1 month of rest down... most months of rest to come. Blah.

It's killing me not to run.

Hang in there man, I hope you get to run again soon!

Having taken six months off earlier this year for injuries let me know how much it can be missed. Which is why, when people ask why I run, I answer simply "Because I can."

No, I didn't join that challenge.  I'm not that dedicated at this time.
Thanksgiving Day hosts the Berbee Derby 5K and 10K runs every year in Madison.  Just an F.Y.I.

I can completely relate to missing running.

Today was the first time I ran in 6 weeks, due to injury.
I know 6 weeks is minimal compared to months, and can empathize with how hard it is to be restricted from doing something you are passionate about.

Running to me is so free, so calming, so individual, it is just you the open terrain and nature.

Hope everyone stays healthy and injury free

Nicole

I am sooooooo missing running these days.

I have only been allowed back on my bike the past 3 weeks though.

THink the run MIGHT happen late this month but I honestly don't know.  My leg gets a tired/ heavy feeling pretty quick and that is the fine line before pain sets in.

Dumb torn gastrocs  (dumb levaquin and steroids in May for that dumber asthmatic bronchitis)
