Hello, a little info.  Last year I ran the Huff 50k in 6:15:00 a month after the Beach 2 Battleship IM (12:32:00) and basically just recovered for two weeks after the IM, then ran a 15 miler, then tapered back down.

This year- I ran the Indy Monumental Marathon Nov. 6th in 3:53:18.  Still sore today.  The Huff 50k is in 6 weeks.  I was thinking of taking the next 2 weeks easy "ish" with no runs over 8 or so and some biking and swimming, then a couple of long weekend runs (14-16) then a couple of weeks of taper.
So, what say you, BT?  If you had just ran a sub 4 hour marathon and had six weeks until a 50k trail run, what would your training look like?  I'm not trying to set the world on fire, just want to finish the Huff in under 6 hours if possible.
Thanks,
ben

Sounds like a good plan to me.

I would probably recover for 2 weeks and maybe runs of 18 & 20 then taper for 2 weeks.

Posted this in it's own thread, but thought I'd post it here too because this is the race...

Hi everyone....I am also using this training plan:

http://www.desertskyadventures.com/resources/plans/50k.html

and I am in week 21.  I will be on a school trip during (T-Giving parade) week 23.  I think I can get in the weekday runs, but there is no way I can get in a 20 miler on Saturday or the 15 miler the next day (long bus ride from east coast to midwest).  Should I to squeeze them in early in week 24 or punt and stick with the rest of the plan?

Thanks!
