After an overwhelming bombardment of PMs about this,

For those photos that missed the contests, dont fit with the theme, or were one of many choices for it, or ones you just love for whatever reason, post them here!

On a camping trip in the smokies we hung our friend off the side of a cliff because he really wanted this shot, I think it was worth it

You know that soupy green stuff on ponds? This is what it looks like close up. Look carefully in the middle...there is a tiny golden bug, who looks as if he was smiling for the camera.

I took this a couple years ago out in my backyard.  We had a storm that was tossing lightning strikes out on the plateau every couple minutes.  This photo was taken with my SLR (along with about 50+ attempts where I "missed").  The fun part is that I had all manual settings and was accidentally set to tungsten lighting, resulting in the very blue hue you see here.

This was taken several years ago and it's still on of my favorites.  The horse (Bailey) was acting silly about a snowman when we were out riding.  My husband, a discipline-loving man, made Bailey a snowman so he could conquer his fears.  I think it worked.

A few more older ones. I'll get around to the shots that didn't make the cut for our weekly contests in a bit.

The mountain biking shot was taken on film in 2000ish.

OK, not my favorite, but favorites of those I have access to...  I heard symphonies in my head as the school appeared out of the gloom and descended,in the hundreds upon hundreds, for 2 or 3 minutes, then disappeared into the gloom again.

thanks.  Absolutely, 100% zero, at least in this environment.  They mass on open ocean pinnacles such as Cocos and the Galapagos, scientists think to breed, although no one has ever seen it.

They are actually very shy and you are very lucky to get one to come close to you.  That usually involves being all by yourself, at 120 feet or so, hiding behind a rock, holding your breath.  Once you move or breathe out, they usually scatter.

There's another dive at Cocos with feeding white tips at night.  There's one location (probably many, but this is one site), where thy school at night and hunt on the reef, and when the pack sees a fish, they go freaking crazy.  Severa sharks will case a fish into a hole, only to get taken out the other side.  And you are right down amongst them, hundreds of them, and they couldn't care less that you are there.  One of, if not the most, amazing dives I've ever done.
