Subject: running/biking in Old Town Alexandria area
so I just moved to Alexandria, near Old Town.  I am just getting back into running/biking and (although it's too cold now - I'm a wuss), I'd like to find some outdoor paths.  (I used to be close to the Mt. Vernon trail, but now I'm about 4 miles away from it - which is too much, esp for a run)

Suggestions?

Where in Old Town are you?  You can pick up the Mt. V trail over by Oronoco Park... granted you go through wide sidewalks and such for a few miles but its marked as the Mt. V trail.  From there you could go north or south.

I'm actually closer to 395 than I am to Old Town. 

I was thinking maybe the WOD - I know that's supposed to be somewhere around me (like, Shirlington?) but I don't know exactly where that is...

Yea the end point is over by the South 4 Mile Run Rd and Shirlington Road intersection.

I'm near Duke and Van Dorn. There is a trail by Holmes Run Park. It will take you down to Eisenhower or up to Beauregard to 4mi run. If you are close to that.
