I am now in the market for a stroller that I can run with.  Looking for recommendations on brands, models, or features that I should shop for.  Oh, and I am a little taller than normal, so any feedback on taller strollers would be great too.

Thanks - Ray

I just researched jogging strollers and the ones that seem to always show up on the highly recommended lists are Bob and Baby Jogger.  I'm currently pregnant with twins, so I was a little more limited in my choices.  I'm also only 5 feet tall, so I can't help you on the height issue.

If you go to the Bob website, there are a series of questions that you can answer about your needs for the stroller and the website recommends the best stroller for you.   Ultimately we went with the Bob Revolution and I'm already in love even though we haven't used it!

Good luck!

CHARIOT.

When it comes to jogging strollers I don't think I would even consider another brand. Room for two, good in any weather condition, turns into a trailer for your bike, and it looks great. I run with my 3.5yr old (35lbs) and my 9 month old (20lbs) together all the time with no issues. If it is cold or rainy I just put the top down, if it is hot and sunny I put it up and put down the sun shade instead. The bike attachment is awesome.

We have a BOB Marathoner stroller. We like it, but the only downfall we found was that the front wheel for ours does not turn, which can be a pain. Other than that it is awesome. We bought ours at a consignment shop for like 150, when new it goes for about 300.

We run with BOB ironman.  It is very comfortable for the kids.  No complaints after several 17+ mile runs with them.  It has a fixed front wheel which can be a pain when turning, but we bought is as a running stroler not for shopping at target.  Also something to consider is stroll smart pusher bar, it frees up your arms.  www.stroll-smart.com   Great stroller...ajustable tracking, good sun protection, good accessories.

Another BOB fan here.  We have the dualie (sp?).  Love it.  I've gone on hour to hour and a half jogs with them and no complaints.

BOB Revolution here.  My longest stroller run is 8 miles thus far, but since that's just about my longest distance I expect we'll end up going much farther.  My 2 year old son has been running with us since he was about 10 months old and loves it.  When he sees me or hubby putting on our running shoes he yells "Runn'in!" and heads for his stroller.

There are plenty of places for him to stash snacks, toys and books inside the seat area so he can handle his own needs for the most part.  We have the snack tray attachment (which comes with the infant car seat attachment) and the little dude will often throw his feet up on that, lean back and take a nap.

Best part of the Revolution is that the front wheel swivels so you can use it as your every day stroller then lock it in place for your runs.  I've had and used other strollers that lock the front wheel, but none of them keep a straight line.  The BOB does.

I've never pushed a Chariot so I can't compare to that, but I can say that all my friends and family tell me that our stroller is the smoothest and easiest they've ever pushed.

Chariot 100%.  And you can purchase a longer handle extension for it which helps my husband.  I have twins and I've used the Chariot and a bob and there is no comparison.  Its expensive but because it converts to a bike trailer you save that money.  We also have the ski attachment and LOVE it.

Our first child is on the way but we are registered for the Baby Jogger Summit. It is very similar to the Bob and it's front wheel also swivels and locks into place. My wife really like the way it easily folded up with 1 hand so you can hold the kid with the other arm/hand.

Have a BOB and Chariot and both are good but would recommend the Chariot due to flexibility in uses.

Another vote for the BOB Revolution.  We've been using it since our daughter was about 3 months old (with car seat adapter) and its been great for us!

I've just ordered my 3rd BOB. 1st one was a single, second was a double, this one is because we want the spinny front wheel thingy for our new baby.

They last forever and still run great: The other single is 6 years old and we still run with our 6 year old in it. Ok, not right now because I ruptured my achilles and the wife is pretty pregnant, but just a few short months ago we were running and I'll be back out there in January. Our double is almost 5 years old and my brother-in-law still uses it with his 6 and 3 year old to do just about everything.

I was, and am soon to be again, a stay-at-home Dad and used our BOBs for everything. Trips to the store/mall, meetings, long runs, beach runs, whatever. I don't have any complaints about the BOB.

Not sure what qualifies as taller than normal, but I am 6'4", and the BOB revolution works well for me.  I have not used any other jogging stroller though, so perhaps not that useful of feedback.

We have a BOB Ironman single stroller and another brand of double jogger with non-fixed front wheel that you lock for running that we bought at a garage sale.  We've also borrowed strollers for races (before sucking it up and buying the double-jogger) that were made by Baby Jogger brand.

If you are going to do actual running, the BOB is the way to go.  The double joggers we own and have borrowed don't track straight, which will wear your arm out fast.  Same issue with the Baby Jogger single stroller, even though it was a lot lighter than the BOB.

Our BOB is now nearly 8 years hold and has hauled our kids all over our town.  Our youngest (5 years) still loves to ride in it when we race.

Please note, however, that we also bought a Maclaren umbrella stroller for day-to-day non-running use because the BOB is bigger/bulkier than you want when you are just walking around.  The Maclaren is also still going strong at 8 years old.

X3 - You can lockout the front week also if you prefer but I always leave mine free to turn.  Personal preference but it is nice to have the option.

I love your avatar!  So precious!!!

We have the BOB Ironman.  It is great!  The fixed front wheel is absolutely no problem.  Just a little push down on the handlebar in the direction you want to turn and it turns.

Can't help you on the height issue.

The BOB revolution is what I use - it's good.

The key features that you don't think will matter, but actually do -

- Easily lock/unlock the front wheel. A fixed locked front wheel (ironman mode) is fine for running only, but if you want to do walks with it as well, you'll be really annoyed at the locked front wheel.

- Easily fix the steer tracking. It's super-easy to do on this stroller - just turn a pin if it's veering left or right when you get it.
