Can anyone link me a few sites that offer good plans?  I see the one on BT but it looks too light.  I used the Trifuel HIM by Matt Lieto (and added more during peak weeks) for my first HIM.

The book "Be Ironfit" has some great plans in it.  It's not free, but $11.53 is pretty cheap.

^^^^  This!  I used it for IM KY and, while my race didn't go as planned, it had nothing to do with the book and everything to do with my execution of the plan, injuries, etc.

I highly recommend BIF!

I used the one on this site and just finished my first IM this weekend in Florida.  Finished in 12:00.  I think the plan worked perfectly for my needs

Got the book.  Can't wait to read all of it.  I think the competitive plan is what I want.

I used the BT plan and qualified for Kona. It's not too light. Too many people over train for ironman races.

That's what I'm using for IM CDA 2011.

You get what you pay for.

There are countless free high-quality marathon training plans out there, for whatever reason triathletes feel the need to pay for basic information.

I picked up Fink's book, and like the plans. I was originally going to go with the competitive plan verbatim, but I'm hybridizing it with some P90X and a boatload of skiing/mountaineering in preparation of IM CdA. Solid book with some good plans.

I was on an airplane all weekend so I read the Ironfit 2nd Edition book from cover to cover.  Really good stuff in that book.  The competitive plan looks good to me and almost perfectly lines up with the NO HIM in April.

The only real shock for me was the small amount of Z3 and Z4 work in the plan.  He only suggests about 10% of high intensity work.  I guess my weekly tempo/suicide runs are a thing of the past.

I'm modifying the IronFit Competitive program for a 70.3 next year, and if I like it, will use it for my full IM the following year.

The plan is really well detailed and reasonable IMO compared to others I've seen.

I used the free plan here and had a great race.  I think there are lots of plans out there (free or not) that are great.  Key is to follow them and use them.  I converted the time to miles (8 mph-run and 20 mph-bike).  I have known a few people that just did time and were underprepared for the race.  While I think you need "hard" and "easy" days- I tried to make every workout count.  It is a lot of time away from the family.

Not to thread-jack, but does "Be Ironfit" cover a nutrition plan as well, or is it just a workout guideline?

Mostly just a workout guideline.  Fink touches on nutrition but it certainly isn't a big focus of the book.
