Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:30 the alarm clock was set at our hotel and we didnt know it, I didnt know it till 4:30. I was gonna get up at 5:15. Ate a metrx big 100 bar, slimfast, and 24oz water. Used the stick on my legs and stretched.

I stayed in the main group the whole time, it was comfortable, not to much clawwing or kicking.

got my goggles off and swim cap before entering the transition area
it was a nice jog there, and I got in and out without problems except for a lady couldnt get going on her bike up the hill in transition

I must be a magnet for people who think their 7000 dollar bike cant be passed, the guy wouldnt let me pass

had 2 near death experiences on this course
1) a local didnt like the race and decided to go against police order and turn anyway, nearly hit me
2) a camry on the bike course decided to ride infront of me, i had to pass it and instead it slowwed down and went left and nearly ran me and another guy over
I was passed by one person that I saw the guy was on an uber nice jav. bike with HED disc and 3 spoke, he got about 30secs on me and that was it

I got called a hardass on the bike :)
What would you do differently?:

need to get my bike fixed the chain skips bad and inbetween gears and falls off

forgot my number belt, so I left my number under my run shoes to pin on, I forgot it and ran a 1/4 mile (and it was a really fast t2 too lol)then I noticed it and had to run back the hill to transition twice. cost me some serious time

My time is actually 3-4 minuites faster, its because I had to go back for my number which cost me 3-4 minuites

get more hill running in, the course is brutal
