Great race!   Great race director.  It should be on everyone's bucket list.

About that hill, I have tried to convince my son to offer to sherpa people's gear up the hill for $20 a pop.  After my race I would have paid for it!

I am hoping to get in shape for this race this year.

Geoff

Did the Oly course last year and looking forward to the long course this year. Camping last year was fun, but a bit unorganized... anyone got some tips/stories for a great camping experience? What time should we get there on Friday to avoid the traffic and get a semi-decent spot? There will be about three cars caravaning up on Friday with some other friends joining us on Saturday.

I usually get there as early as possible on Friday and make a beeline for the overflow area.  We usually get a good spot pretty close to some port-o-potties, and it doesn't get nearly as crowded as the main camping areas.  This would be good for you if you're having someone meet you on Saturday, since there will still be room around you for them to park and set up a tent.

So, now in addition to doing the long course on Saturday, I'm also doing the swim and run as part of a relay in the Oly.  I know others have done this.  Any advice?

I've done the long course and the Oly the last couple years.  Best advice I could give is focus on your recovery immediately after the long course and go to bed early and get a full night's rest on Saturday night.  So that probably means skipping out on the naked co-ed run on Saturday night

Donato - that is the worst advice I have ever read on BT.  That run needs girls like nerdjock (hell, it needs more girls period, it's a veritable sausage fest).  You should be ashamed

You know, I've always thought beer makes for a mighty fine recovery drink and if I have enough "recovery drinks," a nudie run is not just possible but probable! Tongue out
