Subject: 15 yard pool?
Anyone swim laps in a 15 yard pool?  I'm looking at different apartments to move to, and some of them have a "lap" pool... but one I called on has a 44 foot pool - which is almost 15 yards... just wondering if it's even worth looking at...

Are there any work-outs based on a 15 yard pool?

Wow, that is pretty short.  Maybe you could benefit from a tether?  I would personally have to find a gym with a pool.

x2.  Use a tether.  Works great.

I swam in a 20 yard pool and it was hard swimming longer lengths in bigger pools, so I can imagine how 15 would mess with your head.  I'd definitely look into a tether.

I swam in a 20 yard pool for years.  It does make swimming in bigger pools tougher but on the plus side, you get really good at flip turns!

Part of me wants to say that any swimming you do is going to be beneficial, but the other part wants to think you'll be spending too much time turning for it to do any good.

You can always do drills or just kicking but I don't think it is very effective. Recommend you use a longer pool.

1) Wear a helmet!

2) Go check it out yourself.  Non-swimmers, and many kinda actual swimmers don't know pool lengths at all.

I went into a club once and everyone there sweared  up and down that the pool was 25 meters. I seriously doubted it having swam hundreds of miles in a 25m pool elsewhere.  Measure or swim it yourself. It would not shock me to hear an unconcerned party confuse feet with yards with meter in either direction.  (But for an apartment pool it is WAY likely to really be measured in feet probably.)

I've rarely seen an apartment pool where I could do swim training at.  Kids hip to hip in the pool, stupid hours, etc.  So not sure I would pick a place to move at based on the pool unless there was a lap pool and they setup lap swim times, which is going to be rare.

If you move there and its 15yds just dont push off. Many people do flip turns and they arent actually swimming more than 15-20 yds each length anyways.
