Longer running shorts for dudes?

I really don't get the whole "goucho's" look in guys shorts... Anyway... Why not go with the DeSoto 400-Mile tri shorts (longer than their Forza), and wear whatever he wants over them, if it's an issue?

Well, because I'm not going to spend $100++ on a pair of shorts for a teenager!  LOL  If he starts riding a bike and gets into tri's I will but not for running around the neighborhood. 

i just go to target or a local sporting good store and see what is on clearance.   unless he starts running for a few hours a day it wont really matter what he wears as long as there is not chaffing.  even that will pass.

shoes are the only thing that is really important.  in my humble opinion

Nike makes 9" length running shorts for men.  Get them at a Nike outlet and they're only $20-25.

I recently got, and like, the
adidas Men's Response Dual Baggy Short
it has a 16" outseam, and the liner has a 6" inseam mas well.  So the liner acts like a compression short as well

x2. The boyfriend runs in these. They're really light and not lined, so he can wear boxers, briefs, spandex or whatever underneath

haha ima a teenager and i had a while adjusting...but over long distances ive found that short running shorts and compression shorts are the way to go. very comfortable for a guy. the support is a must and the shorter length shorts dont get annoying swooshin against your legs with each stride.just my .02 cents
